I have been scheduled for a new hip, my left hip started giving me issues about 6-7 months ago, when I went to the surgeon for help, xrays indicated my left hip had almost no cartilage remaining, and I was scheduled for a new hip. In the first few days after that the Surgeon’s office called with scheduled appointments I needed prior to the surgery, 1st, my GP, then a pre-admission at the hospital. They then said I needed a cardiologist to evaluate me before the surgery. In the past 8 yrs prior to surgeries each time I had to see a cardiologist for a stress test. In got 2, one in 2017 and another one in 2022, both times I did well, I tested on the treadmill both times, no heart issues. The surgeon (or maybe his insurance carrier) wants a new stress test. The surgeon’s office has tried for 3 weeks now, to set up an appointment with a cardiologist but no results yet. I truly hope this doesn’t delay the surgery, I really need the new hip.
Until recently, if my hip got bad during the day, a good night’s sleep often made the pain less by morning, the last 4 days, it hasn’t helped, it doesn’t go away. I have been walking with a cane for a few months, about 4-5 months. It helped, but now I need to carry most of my weight on my cane as I walk on my left hip, the hip has gotten considerably worse for sure, it’s just bone on bone! I pray that I can get a cardiologist appointment in time.
